    Join the Kansas Aggregate Producers Association – Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association for our March Concrete Forum educational series. Our industry experts will provide the latest, state of the practice information. Ken Justice, P.E., Senior Director Local Paving, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, will present on Troubleshooting (The Causes and Prevention of Concrete Surface Imperfections). Dave Suchorski, P.E., Senior Technical Services Manager/Sales Manager, Ash Grove Cement Company will speak on Preconstruction Meetings.

    Troubleshooting “The Causes and Prevention of Concrete Surface Imperfections  - Ken Justice, P.E. Senior Director Local Paving, NRMCA

    When a blemish appears on the surface of a concrete slab it will likely be one of these:  dusting, scaling, crazing, cracking, plastic shrinkage cracks, thermal crackling, blisters, discoloration, aggregate popouts, alkali aggregate reactions and deicers.  Mr. Justice will present on the specific factors that cause these deficiencies and how they can be minimized or prevented by adhering to proper construction methods.

    Preconstruction Meetings Dave Suchorski, P.E., Senior Technical Services Manager/Sales Manager, Ash Grove Cement Co.

    Mr. Suchorski will present on how to structure effective Project Preconstruction Meetings.  Discussion of and subjects to include in preconstruction meetings that maximize the potential for concrete to be designed, delivered and placed in over a manner that meets the project specifications with the highest quality possible.
