Join the Kansas Aggregate Producers Association – Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association for our November Concrete Forum educational series.  Our industry experts will provide the latest, state of the practice information.  Joe Hug, P.E., Technical Services Manager, Monarch Cement, will present on Concrete Mix Design Principles.  Kevin MacDonald, P.E., Ph.D., President, Beton Engineering, will speak on Cold Weather Concreting.

Concrete Mix Design Principles – Joe Hug, P.E., Monarch Cement

Mr. Hug will instruct on correct materials and proportioning theory and practice.  Learn the latest on materials and additives for today’s concrete mixes.  Recent changes in mix design methodology will be discussed including Performance Enhanced Mixes (PEM’s).

Materials Storage & Handling Speaker TBD

Proper handling and storage of concrete materials is critical in avoiding contamination,  segregation, and other deleterious effects to mixes and performance.  State of the practice information will be presented including utilizing drone technology for inventory control.

Cold Weather Concreting Kevin MacDonald, P.E., Ph.D., Beton Engineering

Dr. MacDonald will present on a broad scope of best practices for cold weather concrete construction from materials and additives thru to placement and curing.
