Join the Kansas Aggregate Producers Association – Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association for our October Concrete Forum educational series.  Our industry experts will provide the latest, state of the practice information.  Rusty Owings, Quality Control General Manager, Geiger Ready Mix, will speak on Concrete Testing Procedures & Specifications.  Ken Justice, P.E., Senior Director Local Paving, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, will present Concrete Flatwork Techniques & Equipment including a live placement and finishing demonstration.  Bring your tools to participate in the demo.

Agenda:

 10:00 am Welcome & Opening Remarks - Jerry Younger,  KAPA-KRMCA
 10:15 am Concrete Testing Procedures & Specifications – Rusty Owings, Geiger Ready Mix.     

Rusty will speak on correct concrete materials sampling and testing procedures including avoiding common test cylinder preparation and handling mistakes.  Approval processes and specifications will also be discussed. 

 11:15 am  Lunch
 11:45 pm Concrete Flatwork Construction Techniques & Equipment -  Ken Justice, P.E., NRMCA.      

Ken will lead discussion and a live placement and finishing demonstration on best practices for 
flatwork construction.  Common field problems, cause and effect, will be reviewed
 1:30 pm  Discussion / Q&A
 2:00 pm  Adjourn

Attendees will receive a certificate for 3.5 PDH  at the conclusion of the event.
