A crowd of over 200 shows up to eat concrete and promote transportation!!

Legislative Luncheon & Eat Concrete Day

Sen. Bob Marshall greets members at the social

Despite threatening weather and an uncertain legislative schedule over 200 showed up for this year’s Legislative Luncheon and Eat Concrete Day. The KAPA-KRMCA along with Concrete Promotion Group of Greater Kansas City, Missouri/Kansas Chapter, ACPA and South Central Cement Promotion Association sponsored the event Thurs., March 11 to give members the opportunity to discuss issues with Legislators regarding the aggregate/concrete industry. The luncheon started out with a good number of Legislators showing up quick as we had the KU vs. Texas Tech game up on the big screen. We estimate over 70 Legislators were in attendence and membership participation was successful with about 60 members present.

The luncheon brought together members and Legislators to socialize and discuss issues such as a new Comprehesive Transportation Program for Kansas.  Our top priority for this session.  Following lunch, Sheridan’s concrete was served to promote the use of concrete in construction.
