Annual Joint Convention

It was another successful year for the Kansas Aggregate Producers' Association & Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Associations 42nd Annual Joint Convention.

This year's annual joint convention held January 14-16 had no missing links! There were great speakers, interesting breakout sessions, delicious meals and of course an exciting awards program.

The convention's success started out with an increased number of participants, just over 155 members.

The convention kicked off with the Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday evening followed by early bird registration and the Board of Directors dinner.

Speakers this year included, voice of the Nebraska Huskers, Gregg Sharpe; Jim Welch, The Growth Leader and United States Senator, Sam Brownback.

As always, breakout sessions are a big part of the convention. This year's topics included Market Share Parking Surveys, P2P Specification & Implementation, KDOT Issues & Answers panel and many others.

One of the new events that was added to the convention this year was the Association Trade Show. On Thursday Supplier members had the opportunity to exhibit and advertise their services.

Thursday evening members got together for food & drink at the annual Welcome Night Gala. Thank you to all of our sponsors who helped make the evening possible.

The spouse/guest program was also a success. Themed around fashion and shopping, it was the perfect topic to keep all the ladies busy. Activities included shopping in some of Kansas City's newest areas and learning "What Not to Wear" visiting with a fashion consultant.

The convention wrapped up with the annual awards ceremony, Friday afternoon.
